Galerie Bernd Kugler was founded in 1997 in Innsbruck.
At the beginning the gallery focused on exhibiting works by Austrian
artists and trading of Modern Art (especially works on paper of German
Expressionism).
In the following years, the gallery cooperated with
Michael Werner and Galerie Sabine Knust to host a number of exhibitions,
which featured
the works of Eugène Leroy, Per Kirkeby and Georg Baselitz.
Since hosting the first solo exhibition of Andrè Butzer in
2004, Galerie Bernd Kugler has established itself as an art venue
for young contemporary internationally relevant artists. The gallery
presents solo exhibitions every two years, which are accompanied
by exhibitions hosting two artists not permanently represented at
the gallery’s program.
So far the gallery participated in the following art fairs: Arco
Madrid, Art Forum Berlin, Art Brussels and Art Basel (Art Statement
2009). |
